Studs on show at Science Museum
Resilient rubber stud tiles from commercial flooring specialists Polyflor Ltd have been installed in place of carpeting around major exhibits at Manchester’s Museum of Science and Industry.
The pale slate coloured tiles were installed by local flooring contractor Winton Flooring Ltd, of Whitefield, who also fitted other areas of the museum with complementary shades of low maintenance Polyflor Classic Mystique PUR heavy duty sheet vinyl flooring.
The Noppe Stud Tile, from Polyflor’s Saarfloor Systems range of decorative rubber sheet and tile floorcoverings, has high abrasion and cigarette burn resistance, with low opacity and smoke toxicity in case of fire, making it ideal for very heavy traffic areas.
Featuring a 28.5mm diameter low profile stud, the range provides a balanced selection of 12 neutral and bold, bright shades in 3mm gauge, with six colours also available in 4mm gauge.
Polyflor Classic Mystique PUR, available in eight attractive shades, features a specially formulated polyurethane surface treatment, which reduces maintenance costs by up to 48% compared with untreated floorcoverings.
Both products, fully tested to fire performance standard EN13501-1, are certified as Class
Bfl-S1, achieving the criteria EN ISO 9239-1 ? 8kw/m² and the mandatory requirement of
EN ISO 11925-2 pass.
