PEIKKO DELIVERS 2,2 KM OF DELTABEAMS AND MORE THAN 700 TONS OF OTHER STEEL STRUCTURES TO “KARISMA” SHOPPING CENTER IN LAHTI, FINLAND
Peikko Group’s unit in Finland, Peikko Finland Oy, has signed a contract with construction company SRV for the delivery of Deltabeams and other steel structures to a shopping center in Lahti, Finland, just one kilometer away from Peikko’s factories in Lahti. The shopping center “Karisma” will have in two levels about 35.000 m2 of floor space. The investor of the shopping center is Kesko and Kesko’s hypermarket K-citymarket will be the lead renter. In total there will be space for 90 shops in the center.
Peikko’s customer is the company SRV which acts as a contractor in the project. The goal for the opening of the shopping center is Christmas 2011. Peikko’s deliveries have already started and they are estimated to continue until late fall. The deliveries will consist of around 2,2 kilometers of Deltabeams and more than 700 tons of other steel structures, e.g. trusses. The contract also includes some assembly services.
"This project is an interesting one for Peikko, in particular as it is one of the biggest projects in Peikko’s history when the amount of steel is considered”, comments Mikko Kuusilehto, Managing Director of Peikko Finland Oy.
