School dining double for Polysafe Wood FX

Pupils at two schools in the North East are dining in style and safety following the installation of new Polysafe Wood FX – from commercial flooring specialist Polyflor Ltd – in the dining halls at Driffield School and Hessle All Saints School.

Installed at both schools by Hull-based flooring contractor Modus Interior Designs, Polysafe Wood FX is seen as especially suitable for school and hospital locations, as well as being ideal for retail and commercial premises, social housing and traditional safety areas such as bathrooms, toilets and changing rooms. For improved cleaning and maintenance in these areas, Polysafe Wood FX is reinforced with polyurethane.

In common with all Polysafe ranges, Polysafe Wood FX complies fully with HSE Guidelines, providing sustained slip resistance throughout its guaranteed 10-year life and achieving 36+ on the RRL Pendulum wet test (Slider 96/Four S rubber) with a surface roughness of 20 microns and above.

The sustained slip resistance of Polysafe Wood FX is achieved by the incorporation of clear aluminium oxide throughout the 0.7mm clear wear layer, with aggregates specially formulated to ensure excellent clarity of design. Providing a choice of eight dramatically authentic timber styles, Polysafe Wood FX is available in a sensible 2m width.

As well as compliance with HSE Guidelines, Polysafe Wood FX meets the performance requirements of EN13845, the European Norm for safety flooring, and in terms of abrasion resistance is classed as a Group T product – achieving the Use Area Classification of 23/34/43.

Fully tested to fire safety standard EN13501-1, Polysafe Wood FX is certified as Class Bfl-S1, achieving the criteria EN ISO 9239-1 8kw/m² and the mandatory requirement of EN ISO 11925-2 pass.

The product has been independently tested and results demonstrate that it inhibits the growth of MRSA on the flooring. An effective cleaning regime is, however, the most important defence against infection.
