New Polysafe keeps babies safe at Paper Moon
New Polysafe Wood FX decorative sheet vinyl safety flooring – recently launched by commercial flooring specialist Polyflor Ltd – is helping keep babies safe at the Paper Moon Day Nursery in Nottingham.
“The floorcovering is ideal for our feeding, washing and wet play areas,” says Natalie Smith the nursery’s manager “The Silver Wood timber effect design is good to look at, the floor is easy to clean and best of all it helps reduce the risk of our staff slipping and falling when dealing with very young children.”
Installed at the nursery by locally-based flooring contractor Forrester Flooring, Polysafe Wood FX is available in eight realistic timber styles and has a wide appeal across a commercial facility. Especially suitable for child care facilities, hospital wards, corridors, general circulation areas and front of house reception areas, Wood FX can also be also be used in traditional use areas such as bathrooms and toilets where there are risks of contaminant spillages and slip resistance is required.
The outstanding decorative appeal of the flooring is fully matched by its slip resistant performance. In common with all Polysafe ranges, Polysafe Wood FX complies fully with HSE guidelines, providing sustained slip resistance throughout the guaranteed life of the product. The range also achieves 36+ on the RRL Pendulum wet test (Slider 96/Four S rubber) with a surface roughness of 20 microns and above to ensure a low slip risk classification is achieved. The sustained slip resistance of Polysafe Wood FX is achieved by the incorporation of clear aluminium oxide throughout the wear layer, with aggregates specially formulated to ensure excellent clarity of design.
As well as compliance with HSE guidelines, Polysafe Wood FX meets the performance requirements of EN13845, the European Norm for safety flooring, and, fully tested to fire safety standard EN13501-1, is certified as Class Bfl-S1, achieving the criteria EN ISO 9239-1 8kw/m² and the mandatory requirement of EN ISO 11925-2 pass.
