Polysafe stars in Tinseltown
A variety of bright, attractive colours from the Polysafe Astral and Polysafe Standard sheet vinyl safety floor ranges from commercial flooring specialist Polyflor have been used to create a star studded floor at the Tinseltown Milkshake Bar in Wimbledon. Designer Gary Fox, of Studio Fox in Stevenage, specified Polysafe Standard in Black Walnut for welcome and seating areas, which is inset with colourful illustrations of milkshakes and stars to reflect the bar’s general design theme and to encapsulate the variety and fun of the milkshake experience. For the bar’s back of house serving area, Black Walnut was also chosen to give slip resistance and user confidence in areas with risks of contaminant spillages. Both Polysafe Astral and Polysafe Standard meet the performance requirements of EN13845 and are BBA Agrément certified as G5ws. Both also conform to HSE guidelines, achieving a sustainable slip resistance value of 36 on the RRL Pendulum wet test (Four-S/Slider 96 rubber) and a surface roughness of Rz 20µm. Fully tested to fire safety standard EN13501-1, the products are certified as Class Bfl-S1, achieving the criteria EN ISO 9239-1 8kw/m² and the mandatory requirement of EN ISO 11925-2 pass. Polysafe Astral also incorporates Supratec+, the second generation of Polyflor’s unique soil releasing polymer system, now including polyurethane for reduced dirt pick up, even easier maintenance and life cycle cost savings of up to 60% over traditional safety flooring.
