VingCard provides security solutions for Barcelona hotel

VingCard has completed the installation of its Signature mag-stripe lock system at a popular hotel in Barcelona.

The security provider has completed the installation for rooms at the W Barcelona, a 473-room property designed by the world-famous Ricardo Bofill.

VingCard states that it designed the system for the most sophisticated hotels around the world. It includes features such as a 600-event audit trail, reprogrammable Flash RAM lock memory and both magnetic stripe and combo reader options.

Pedro Martin, Starwood regional director of IT for Spain and Portugal, said: "With Signature by VingCard, we chose a lock with a modern look and feel that will provide unsurpassed security for our guests."

He added that the company feels confident that the Signature lock is the right choice for the property, based on VingCard's reputation throughout the industry.

VingCard recently completed the installation of its VISIONLINE system for rooms at the Fairmont Pittsburgh, a 185-room luxury property that is scheduled to open in March 2010.
