Consumers clear when selecting showers and bathroom materials

Showers and bathroom materials are judged on specific criteria by the vast majority of consumers, research by Deva reveals.
The company - which is itself a manufacturer of taps, showers and bathroom materials - found that just two per cent of consumers are uncertain as to which is the most important issue to them when selecting new fixtures and fittings.
Price is a factor for one in seven (17 per cent) of those surveyed, while more than a third (36 per cent) instead prioritise aesthetic appearance over all other issues.
However, almost half (45 per cent) of the survey's respondents now claim that environmental concerns are the single most significant factor in determining which showers they select to fit at home.
Eco-friendly showers could prove beneficial not only to the environment, but also to family finances.
The Energy Saving Trust claims that having a five-minute shower in place of a bath just once each week can save a family of four up to £15 on their annual heating bill.
