Government launches Insulate Today initiative

A new government scheme is set to help British employees better insulate their homes at a reduced cost.
Insulate Today will see the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) work with leading businesses to boost draught prevention in 250,000 staff members' homes.
A trial run is being tested at Sainsbury's Energy and Act On CO2, under which personnel will be offered a number of incentives to upgrade their insulation.
These include free installation and giving away energy monitors to help homeowners keep their bills down.
It is hoped a successful pilot will lead to the scheme being rolled out in other organisations, with Aviva, HSBC and the Energy Saving Trust all involved in the venture.
Joan Ruddock, minister of state for energy and climate change, said: "The government's ambition is to see all lofts and cavity walls in the UK insulated by 2015."
Grants for energy-saving insulation and other sustainable home improvements were recently announced for 12 communities in Britain, with each due to receive £500,000.
