A sustainable flooring system has been developed for the British Rail Board's office in Manchester.
The scheme, by US-based manufacturer InterfaceFLOR seeks to add a more contemporary feel to the office, which has 9,500 square metres over four storeys.
Four unique designs from InterfaceFLOR - Duet Lunar, Shadowland Perimeter, Accent Flannel Gold Twill and RePrise Topaz - were used for the scheme.
Accent Flannel has a pattered, level-cut pile with accent stripes, perfectly complemented by Duet Lunar with varying pile heights and a more tonal colour scheme. RePrise has a random linear design, while Shadowland takes in field patchwork designs, giving a hint of an aerial view of the land.
The RePrise tiles are waste-efficient through being installed non-directionally. The Board's office won a B* Performance Certificate rating, as well as its Excellent Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) rating.
