Common cladding materials 'remain available' in Q2

The supply of commonly used cladding materials such as timber and steel remains strong in the current market for construction supplies, according to the Federation of Master Builders (FMB).
In its latest quarterly update, the industry body notes that some suppliers are currently holding low levels of stock due to economic factors.
But this has not had a negative impact on the availability of some construction supplies, including timber and steel - both frequently used in cladding materials - and bricks.
'Those firms that indicated some delays in delivery reported shorter delays,' the trade body adds, indicating that conditions may have improved over previous quarterly updates.
Guidance from the FMB suggests that new homeowners should include cladding among the issues that they want to tackle first.
By making a specific shortlist of cosmetic features to address, it can be easier to remain focused on the task, Channel 4 property presenter Phil Spencer tells the organisation.
