App offers bathroom makeover tips

04/07/2011 10:21:26

Homeowners are now just a click of a mouse away from expert designers who will be able to advise them on makeover ideas for their bathrooms thanks to an innovative new app on B&Q's Facebook page.

The Ask the Designer app gives web users the chance to submit pictures of their bathroom to B&Q's team of experts who will then select the most challenging spaces of the room in need of a makeover and draw up a design that fits the brief.

As well as being given great new bathroom ideas, B&Q customers who use the app will be in with a chance of winning £2,500 to spend on a new bathroom at the store. They will also be able to view all the other bathroom makeover challenges that have been submitted via the site and be able to make comments and offer tips and opinions online.

Plans are also under way to expand the service so it is opened up to customers who may be looking to give their kitchen a facelift instead.

B&Q Direct director Dave Elliott said: "Taking that first step is often the hardest part of DIY, and our innovative new Facebook app makes it easier for homeowners to get specially tailored, expert help, online. What ever the space or budget our designers can help provide simple solutions to even the most challenging projects."
