BPF work could boost green and sustainable building
27/07/2010 17:03:27

Green and sustainable building projects which incorporate plastic products could be given a boost with the news that the British Plastics Federation (BPF) is fully integrating its Recycling Council into its larger activities.
Instead of standing as a separate entity, from January 1st 2011 the council is to be renamed as the BPF Recycling Group.
BPF president Paul Jukes suggests that the move is strategically excellent given the 'hugely important' nature of recycling for the plastics industry.
Mark Burstall, chair of the Recycling Council, adds: 'The Recycling Council feels confident that the BPF's and the Recycling Council's policies are well aligned and there are major opportunities for the council to broaden its offering to potential members.'
Green and sustainable building could receive a further boost from the BPF as part of its Plastics 2020 Challenge.
This tasks those within the industry with the mission of addressing bioplastics and recycling as part of an overall approach to improving the sustainability of the sector.
