Sustainable building event kicks off in London

01/03/2010 13:05:44

Ecobuild 2010, a leading sustainable building event, gets underway in London this week.

Green and sustainable building practices will be showcased at a major trade show and exhibition in London this week.

Ecobuild 2010, which features over 1,000 exhibitors, will be held at Earls Court.

The event is designed to provide a platform for both inspirational conceptual design and practical sustainable building techniques.

There will be two core themes: Cityscape and Ecobuild Installer.

Cityscape looks at the improvements that can be made to green spaces in urban areas, encouraging walking, cycling, meeting, playing and a greater sense of community.

Ecobuild Installer looks at the growing trend that is seeing more and more homeowners explore microgeneration projects, such as rooftop solar panels and wind turbines.

"As a variety of government initiatives start to encourage the installation of micro renewable energy systems, Ecobuild Installer will make sense of the products, the market and the opportunities through a series of practical demonstrations by Plumb Centre, as well as over 30 free seminar and training sessions, embracing two key themes," the organisers said.

Ecobuild, which starts tomorrow, is sponsored by the UK Green Building Council, the Chartered Institute of Building and the Royal Institute of British Architects.
