VELUX provides daylight to cultural centre

17/11/2009 15:47:51

The installation of VELUX windows has added natural daylight to a cultural centre in Copenhagen.

A renovation project of a cultural centre in Copenhagen has given a new lease of life to the building following the installation of VELUX windows.

Energy consumption will be cut by 60 per cent thanks to the improved insulation, solar heating and increased natural daylight and ventilation that VELUX has provided.

As well as improving the energy consumption of the centre the installation will also help to better the well-being of the people that use it.

VELUX group department head Karsten Duer said: "We spend 90 per cent of our time indoors, so it is important that we get as much daylight and natural ventilation as possible into our buildings."

He added that daylight and fresh air are essential for welfare, health and the ability to learn and work.

VELUX states that it has an extensive range of products and offers an unequalled variety of different shapes and sizes, allowing the architect to make positive design statements.
