Blucher has announced that a selection of grates have been installed at the Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre in the Olympic athlete's home town of Sheffield.

The company has supplied ten stainless steel access covers and more than 50 metres of stainless steel 670-style channels complete with barefoot-safe shower grate at the former Old Sherwood Swimming Baths.

Blucher commented: "The pool, which is currently closed for refurbishment, is to re-open in this month under the new name of the Rebecca Adlington Swimming Centre in honour of Rebecca's achievements."

The refurbishment was announced in August last year as the swimmer returned home from the Beijing Olympics.

In other recent specifications, Blucher has also delivered EuroPipe metallic pipework at the Unite Sky Plaza in Leeds, which is the tallest building in the UK designated solely for student accommodation.

The EuroPipe pipework was selected for its ease of installation and durability and was chosen after the main contractor experienced problems with expanding plastic pipework in a separate high-rise development in Southampton.
