Shower maker Roman is celebrating after it was accredited with the industry's ISO 9001 standard, reports the Northern Echo.

The Newton Aycliffe firm has succeeded in achieving the quality management mark following a number of months of improving its procedures.

According to the publication, the need to put in place a standardised system of working practices came due to Roman's expansion in the preceding time.

Due to its success, the firm now produces a selection of different product types for shower fitters.

Managing director David Osborne tells the Northern Echo: "Customer satisfaction is at the forefront of our business and is engrained in our corporate objectives.

"So the ISO 9001 accreditation is extremely useful in ensuring we meet this objective."

With all 210 on-site staff meeting the standard, product standards and customer service are expected to be of the highest quality.

The International Organisation for Standardisation published the latest revision of the ISO 9001 standard on November 14th. ADNFCR-1903-ID-18877540-ADNFCR
