Sound insulation 'becoming more popular'

27/04/2010 17:21:59

People are considering sound insulation more oftenSound insulation is something more and more homeowners are considering for their properties, particularly those who live near cities.

This is according to Sandra Natukunda and Zahra Abigaba, who noted in an article for the Daily Record that sound insulation 'is important'.

'When you decide to live in the city, then your daily activities are likely to be interrupted by noise from all sorts of sources,' they stated.

According to the pair, cars, night clubs and construction sites tend to be the most frequent offenders for noise.

They added that windows should be the primary target for sound insulation upgrades, with many people not realising how much din can creep through gaps in single-screen installations, while ceilings were also highlighted as a priority.

Editor of Homebuilding and Renovating Magazine Jason Orme recently said the quality of residences is much higher these days and he described the ability to live in a sound-free environment as 'absolutely critical'.
