Heating materials market 'requires more commitment'

More dedication is needed in order to bring the heating materials market and other green and sustainable building options into focus.
This is the opinion of Leonie Green, external affairs spokesperson at the Renewable Energy Association, who said the government should consider the sector a priority.
'Unfortunately, heat is suffering a hiatus,' she remarked. 'For a lot of areas we need policy, certainty and commitment now.'
According to Ms Green, while there appears to be a number of green and sustainable initiatives gaining momentum, it is important this continues.
The UK is currently behind in the renewables industry, she explained, adding that this should not be the case, particularly with the abundance of natural resources available in places such as Scotland.
Her comments come just days after Duncan McLaren, chief executive of Friends of the Earth Scotland, highlighted green and sustainable building as a great way to boost the country's employment.
