Green and sustainable building work set for Hartlepool

A range of new green and sustainable buildings are to be constructed in Hartlepool following funding from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).
The properties will be developed in the town's Belle Vue area, with the scheme aimed at modernising the area and removing unpopular housing.
Some £3 million was offered by the HCA, while the total cost of the initiative is £9.25 million.
Neil Cawson, investment and regeneration manager at the organisation, said this is a 'great example' of how local communities should be supported.
He remarked: 'These homes will be built to a high standard for green living, meaning less carbon emissions and lower fuel bills for residents.'
The development will consist of 84 properties with a mix of two, three and four-bedroom residences, as well as bungalows.
Earlier this month, the HCA confirmed work had started on a new zero-carbon housing venture in Mansfield, with the properties being built to between levels four and six of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
