Kingspan awarded A+ sustainability ratingKingspan Off-Site has been awarded an A+ sustainability rating for its dry-lined Fabrik Facade System, it has been revealed.

The highest rating available from the Building Research Establishment (BRE) in its Green Guide, the grade marks the facade system as suitable for projects with the greatest need for sustainable procurement of materials.

Kingspan Off-Site asserts that the panels used in the system are available in a wide variety of textures and finishes, making them suitable for a range of different applications and design schemes.

Their flexibility is furthered through their compatibility with frame structures fabricated out of concrete, steel or timber.

Gilbert McCarthy, managing director at Kingspan Off-Site, says: "Designers can take a holistic approach to a building design incorporating environmental sustainability, without having to compromise on the architectural vision."

The assessment process for the BRE Green Guide takes into account a material's impact on the environment across 13 different criteria.

Such considerations include the extraction of any minerals used, disposal of waste and the quantity of fossil fuels used during the manufacturing process.

BRE asserts that the Green Guide serves as a reference point for anyone employed within the construction industry to identify products believed to be environmentally friendly based on presently available assessment methods.ADNFCR-1903-ID-18902657-ADNFCR
