Innovative windows and doors 'bring value to developers'

29/07/2010 13:52:13

Developers and building owners are told they can derive value from the innovation incorporated into modern windows and doors.

Innovative designs in windows and doors can offer 'competitive value to the end-user', according to manufacturer Assa Abloy.

The group's Ceco Door subsidiary produces windows and doors for a variety of purposes, including metal storm shutters and fire-proof openings.

However, it is its acoustical options that lead to the observation about the value that end-users can derive from imaginative design by suppliers.

Product manager Steve Smith says: 'Product innovation, design options, quick-ship capabilities and cost efficiencies are all substantial benefits to building owners, contractors, distributors, and architectural and project management teams.'

The company's own Sound-Tech Xpress range is free from formaldehyde and lead, helping to support principles of green and sustainable building.

Entrances can consist of a single or double aperture, with the doors themselves weighing around 30 per cent less than most generally available doors with high sound-transmission class ratings.

They can also be equipped with the necessary hardware depending on their role within the building - including devices to allow them to be used as an emergency exit.
